Meat Department – We employ 2 butchers who hand cut our meat, 7 days a week. Order any cut you like. We also carry specialty meats like bison, lamb, meat from local farmers/vendors and meat alternatives. – Open everyday 6am-10pm

West’s Country Mart is a family owned grocery store. Bill West opened his first grocery store in Abilene, Kansas in 1968. In 1972 he opened a second location in Abilene. Then in 1993 he purchased the current Country Mart store. The other two grocery stores were closed and combined into the Country Mart. There are 3 generations of West’s working in the store. Bill, his son Steve and Steve’s son Chris. The Country Mart store is a full service grocery store. It is one of the few stores left that sack and carry-out your groceries. Customer service is their main priority.

 

Apples for the Students: Local schools receive FREE Educational equipment simply by saving participating stores register receipts. See the sign up poster in our store for the list of participating schools.

Raise Money for your School or Non-Profit

Apples for the Students works with grocery stores to provide more than $275 million worth of FREE computers, equipment, programs and educational tools to local schools. During the 2019/­2020 receipt collection period, 8 local schools participated in Country Mart Apples for the Students program. They collected 917,100 points in receipt totals. West’s Country Mart donated school supplies and equipment at Abilene Middle School, Eisenhower Elementary, Abilene Baptist Academy, St. Andrews Elementary School, Rural Center Elementary, Blue Ridge Elementary School and Chapman Middle School.
